The other Giants
I am from New York and so when I hear "The Giants" I automatically think NY football team. But out here on the other coast they have a Giants baseball team. We've heard that seeing a game here and experiencing the stadium is a must. Matt had a chance to go with the guys back in July and it did not disappoint. Here's a view of the stadium with one of the most scenic views around.

I HEART THE POOL
I love summertime and swimming. Growing up we lived in our swimsuits during the summer. We'd go inside for lunch and bathroom breaks, otherwise we were in the water. Here in Texas we have a great community pool that is rarely busy (which is shocking considering it hit 100 degrees everyday). We hit the pool almost everyday Monday through Friday this summer. Maya mastered the freestyle thanks to a frien of mine who came and taught lessons at the pool. Luke learned to swim this summer (as long as he has goggles on). He even got to the point where he'll jump in and swim to us. I'm so glad my kids love the pool as much as I do!
Who doesn't love being silly with dad?

Remember the games you used to make up with your brothers and sisters? Avoiding hot lava and crocodiles, steam roller, getting the bad guys. Good times. Here a little look at Maya and Luke - choreographed by Maya.

4th of July Fun
Hope everyone had a fun 4th of July. My sister Jess and her family came down from exciting Ardmore Oklahoma to visit for the long weekend. We had fun swimming (with some races and diving competitions - Matt's been holding out on me and gave me a run for my money in the pool), watching movies, setting off firecrackers, and talking about the Twilight series (Jess and I are both team Edward). The kids all had so much fun playing together. Anywho - here's a few pics of the fun weekend.

Who needs swimming lessons???
I was planning on signing Maya up for some swim lessons. She's been "kind of" swimming for the past couple of summers - you know, she can swim but she stays close to the wall as a crutch every time she needs to breathe. Still learning to just tread. Anyway - once our pool opened this summer she surprised me by just swimming all the way across 4 lanes with no help. She's even started working on her freestyle. She's never had swim lessons - just what she's learned from Matt and I. Since I'm a swimmer and life guarded for a few years it's hard for me to justify paying someone else to teach my kids to swim. Maybe next year I'll get her some lessons and we can get more into form and all that good stuff - we'll see.
