A Little bit of Rock N Roll

I come from a musical family. We always had a piano, organ, harpischord, little drums, tamborines, whatever band instrument we chose, and of course, the good old recorder. I found Luke rockin out on one and couldn't resist all his rock n roll poses he struck.

My sister and her kids participate in a community band/orchestra. My nephew Danny plays a little bit of the drums. They had to make room in their van for a trip we were gonna take that day, so he had to bring his drums in the house and Maya and Luke had a chance to experiment on them. (A lot of these videos I recorded for Matt since he's been away for several weeks, and as a parent, I figure he'll get a kick out of these.)

More NY Adventures

New York (upstate) is one of those places where fruits and vegetable are AMAZING! Everytime I turned around, Luke was eating another peach, or apple, or grapes, or carrots, which as a mom I have no problem with other than him being extra regular (but that's another story). We had some very tasty corn on the cob for dinner one night and noticed Luke was eating it a little differently than usual. I got a kick out of it.

The only thing about you that makes me sad at all,

is that I cannot find you on my grocery store wall!

Cheesy? Yes. But if you have had this wonderful treat you would understand. I've only seen them out east which means I've had to go without for the past 2 years. I was so happy to be able to buy them during my trip to NY. My sister, Rachel, understands this dilemma. In order to get some out west, she had to order them by the case. You would think it would be hard to eat a case worth, but they go faster than you'd think. I should've thought to bring some backt o Texas with me, but they got eaten out of my parent's kitchen pretty quickly.

Back at Home

The kids and I got back on Wednesday from a fun trip to my parents house in New York. As much as I love to go home to New York, it felt good to come back to my own home. Here are a few pictures and videos from the trip.

Luke spent a lot of time playing his cousin's Wii. He's obsessed with a game called Smashbrothers, and now I have to deal with the aftermath and the constant asking if he can play. The answer for a LONG time will be NO!

I Haven't Fallen off the planet. . .

. . .I'm just hanging out in NY for a few weeks while my husband is out of town and it's still summer vacation. I'm hopin I'll get around to uploading some pictures and mini videos soon, but hey, it's easy to be lazy hanging around my parents house.

I saw this on my friend Sarah's blog. I really like this little blog game. I'm always curious about how people remember me or what they think of when they think of me. I'm usually surprised if someone mentions they were thinking of me or talking about me. I see myself as an "out-of-sight, out-of mind" kind of person. Anywho, I'd love to see what you all remember.

Ten years ago: I was home for the summer after my freshman year of college. I spent the summer lifegaurding and goofing off with friends in my free time.

2. Help Matt put up crown moulding.
3. Keep the kids entertained doing something other than playing video games
4. Get Maya to practice her piano and teach a few other lessons
